This lip balm is delightfully shimmery and lightly tinted with red iron oxide. It smells like peppermint, but with a hint of citrus.
It gets its shimmer from silver mica and the tint from red iron oxide.
This lip balm is scented with peppermint, and pink grapefruit essential oils. I also added a few drops of this lemonade cocktail fragrance oil, which gives this tinted lip balm’s scent extra dimension.
This lip balm is a great stocking stuffer and is extra moisturizing, perfect for the dry winter months!
10 grams beeswax
7 grams cocoa butter
12 grams virgin coconut oil
4 grams jojoba oil
15 grams olive oil
1 gram vitamin e oil
1/32 teaspoon red iron oxide (use mini spoons like these)
1/16 teaspoon silver mica
5-10 drops peppermint essential oil
3-4 drops pink grapefruit essential oil
1-3 drops electric lemonade cocktail fragrance oil
1.Melt the oils and waxes in a double boiler over low to medium heat.
2.After everything is fully melted, remove from heat and add mica.
3.Let the mixture cool down a bit but continue to mix to prevent it from thickening up and to disperse the mica evenly.
4.When the mixture is merely warm and not hot, add essential/fragrance oils.
5.Pour into tubes and cap.
