This lovely lip gloss is moisturizing, minty and has a hint of sparkle. It looks a bit yellow in the tube thanks to beeswax, but goes on nice and sheer along with some glitter.
This gloss gets its shimmer from silver mica and its moisturizing properties from beeswax, coconut oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, olive oil and vitamin e oil.
I poured the gloss into squeezable lip balm tubes. For easier pouring, put about 6 empty tubes in a wide mouth mason jar to prop them up.
These lip glosses make awesome holiday gifts!
10 grams castor oil
8 grams jojoba oil
8 grams virgin olive oil
6 grams beeswax
6 grams virgin coconut oil
10 drops of vitamin e oil
1/8-1/4 teaspoon silver mica
I used 10-20 drops peppermint essential oil, but feel free to customize the scent to your liking.
- Melt the oils and waxes in a double boiler over low to medium heat.
- After everything is fully melted, remove from heat and add mica.
- Let the mixture cool down a bit but continue to mix to prevent it from thickening up and to disperse the mica evenly.
- When the mixture is merely warm and not hot, add essential oil(s) of choice.
- Pour into tubes and cap.
